2 Years Down....A Lifetime To Go !

Today marks 730 days of being married for my hubby and I!

 

 

I can't believe 2 years has come and gone already.

 

I sent him this card this morning:

 

 

I'm really not THAT conceited, I did enjoy this card though.

 

 

Since I wasn't a blogger back then

 today I am going to share some of my wedding photos

with you and take a trip down memory lane.

 

 

We got married on a warmer than usual November night in 2010.

 

The temperature was 65 degrees that day and the sun was shining.

 

 

 

My sister Shannon often reminds me of our conversation that day when she called.

 

I think she expected me to be doing something glamorous or exciting since it was my wedding day.

 

 

ME: "Hello?"

 

SHANN: Heyyyyy! It's your wedding day! What are you doing????

 

ME: "Just cleaning out the litter box"!

 

SHANN: "Bahahahahaha"!!!!!

 

 

So maybe my day didn't start with anything too exciting, but that night was the best!

New Home Remodel...Room #3 - The Playroom

 

This is the face of a happy baby who is in love with her new playroom

 

 

 

One of the things I was looking for when house hunting was an area that I could turn into a playroom for my little princess. It was really important for me to have this space so I could create an area where she can play, learn, and grow (& a spot where I could store all her toys).

 

When we moved into our new home this summer the downstairs was being used as a 4th bedroom:

 

 

 

I called this "the nipple room" because that's the only thing I could think

of to describe the hideous color on the walls of this room.

 

It quickly became the storage area where we unloaded the moving truck with everything we owned.

 

Well I can't stand clutter and with Madyson's first birthday approaching this December I knew I was going to need a place for all her new things so the hubby had a lot of work ahead of him...

 

First off we made a trip to Lowes to pick out a color.

 

I chose Valspar's Summer Sun for the walls:

 

 

 

I was attempting to make the room gender neutral (in case future baby #2 happens to be a boy) but when I was finished it was clear this room was made for a little princess.

After it was all painted then it was time to decorate!

 

 

 

 I had my sister Shannon create these for me, then my hubby printed them out at work..

a quick trip to Michaels for some frames and we were all set!

I searched EVERYWHERE for the perfect playmat and found this one on Amazon.
It had GREAT reviews and even though it was pricy it was exactly what I was searching for!

Then for some more wall decor:

I got both this clock & bulletin board from etsy.

 

 

 

 

When I saw this playhouse @ Pottery Barn Kids I had to get it!

 

 

Next we needed a place to store toys & books. I went back online and found storage bins & a book rack for a very reasonable price on Amazon!

 

 

 

 

 

Every little girl needs a chair to read her books in...

I got this at Pottery Barn Kids too a while ago and it looked perfect in her new room!

 

 

 

Every playroom needs a table & chairs set as well. This cute little set came from Amazon too:

 

 

 

I always wanted to be an elementary school teacher. I majored in English Education in college but never pursued my dream. I can't wait until Madyson is old enough to "play school" so I can teach her everything I know :) This table will get a lot of use when we start !

 

 

I love these animal alphabet cards that I found on etsy.

 I got a clothesline and hung each card up with a

 pastel colored clothespin to match the decor of the room:

 

 

 

 

 

I found this cute little rug at Bed Bath & Beyond for only $19.99!

Gobble Gobble & It's Okay Thursdays

 

 

Wow, is Thanksgiving really only 2 short weeks from today?!!

And that means Christmas is right around the corner!

 

I just love this time of year.

 

Since I will be hosting Thanksgiving this year I guess I should start working on my menu!

 

Speaking of turkeys, my hubby brought me home this plant last night :) cute, right?!

        It's Okay that the diaper genie is full and I have been piling dirty diapers on top until my hubby gets home  -  (I don't want to go outside in the blizzard to empty it)     It's okay that 6 months ago my backyard looked like this:  

 

and this morning it looks like this:

 

 

 

It's okay that I'm wearing a beach coverup dress around the house today even though

 it's snowing outside right now.

 

 

It's okay that my treadmill is downstairs waiting for me and I am sitting here blogging instead.

 

 

It's okay that I have SO much Christmas shopping to do and only about 6 weeks to do it.

 

 

It's okay that the dryer is beeping to let me know it's time to fold the clothes, but I continue to ignore it while I finish this post.

    Oh to be young again!   This pic was taken on my 27th birthday at a bar in Boston.   When the DJ found out it was my birthday he chased me with a bottle of some kind of alcohol until I agreed to do a 10 second shot with everyone cheering me on.   Ohhhhhhh the good ole' days!  

    ( and a big THANK YOU to my sister Shann who is holding my hair back in this picture )   Maybe I'll try this on my next birthday again... but probably not :)   Happy Friday Everyone!
